Ms. Chih-Chun Huang

Chih-Chun Huang, a native Taiwanese, started dancing at the age of 5.  Throughout her career, she has trained extensively in classical ballet and modern dance as well as Chinese Folk and Classical dance.  She received her formal training in Taiwan and came to the United States in 1995.  She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance at New World School of the Arts (University of Florida) and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  While at the University of Illinois, she received a Teaching Assistant Scholarship from 1999-2002.

In 2002, Ms. Huang moved to New York City.  She has been working with many professional companies, including H.T. Chen & Dancers, Saba Dance Theater, and The Steeledance.  Ms. Huang also choreographs and presents her works regularly in theaters and galleries in Manhattan. When Ms. Huang presented her latest performance at The Pianos Manhattan, Moeda Santamaria of The Epoch Times wrote “Chih-Chun shows great skill in utilizing the dancers’ bodies and evoking raw emotion.”

Besides developing her Modern dance talent in New York, Ms. Huang continues to promote Chinese cultural dance in the Chinese community.  She has been active teaching and choreographing at The Taiwanese Center, The Asian-American Coalition for Education, and The Plainview Chinese School.
